WHY YOU'LL WANT A PAIR OF PAT'S CHAPS FOR YOUR NEXT CUSTOM CHAPS
Pat's chaps are made from the best materials available. Notice they are not pieced
as are so many other chaps. Cutting your chaps from one hide ensures color quality and
not piecing makes for a smoother, more slimming fit. Fringe is cut on an angle, not
straight out, to drape better. On rare occasions, chaps may have to be pieced to
accommodate the size of the customer.
Notice the quality of the stitching and the feminine look of the decorative edges. Front
belts are stitched in unless the customer requests they be attached by Chicago screws or
d- rings.
Chaps may have a covered button which fastens like a concho in the back; they may be
laced as many people like their schooling chaps to fasten; or they may have a variety of
different conchos – whatever the customer wants.
Chaps have a small flap of material covering the zipper on the inside of the leg. This
makes the zipper less visible while riding.
Pat's chaps have wider facings at the bottom than many other chaps because the center of
the leg and the inside of the leg usually are making contact with you stirrup. This wider
facing adds to the wear life of your chaps.
Here you can see reinforcements at the top and bottom of the outside zipper. People
sometimes get the bottom of their chaps caught on whatever, and chaps are then ripped
horizontally making for a major repair that often detracts from the appearance of the
chaps. These reinforcements help that from happening.
Quality matching belts may also be ordered to match the color of your chaps. If you're
going to wear your show blouse tucked in, a matching belt helps to carry the judge's eye
up, making you look taller, straighter, and slimmer in the saddle.
